Dangal 2 Days Collection Report
Aamir Khan’s highly anticipated sports drama Dangal directed by Nitesh Tiwari was released on December 23rd. The movie opened to unanimous appreciation from the critics and the common audience.
The second day box office collections of the movie has now been officially announced. On day 2, the film registered collections of Rs 34.82 crore, taking the two-day total to over Rs 64 crore.
Dangal had collected Rs 29.78 crores on the opening day including the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions which had grossed a total of Rs 59 lakhs. Dangal is now next only to Salman Khan’s Sultan, which registered Rs 36.59 crore on the opening day.
The huge leap in the second day collections is a result of the highly positive word of mouth. Also Saturday officially kick-started the Christams season holidays.
The two day collections of Dangal is still Rs 10 crores less than that of Salman Khan’s Sultan, but that is primarily because Sultan was released on a holiday and Dangal has still not benefitted from the Christmas holiday.
Reports from trade sources suggest that Dangal will touch the 100-crore mark in the first weekend itself. The film needs to fetch Rs 36 crore on Sunday to enter the elite 100 crore club.
