Box Office Collection : Dangal Collection Report 5 Days

Aamir Khan’s latest release Dangal has been getting immensely positive response from all the centres and it is reflecting on the soaring box office numbers as well. The movie has now crossed the 200 crore mark worldwide within 5 days of it’s release. The sports drama directed by Nitesh Tiwari was released on December 23rd.

The movie also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra, Suhani Bhatnagar along with Aamir Khan. The movie is about the real-life story of a wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat from Haryana who trained his daughters in wrestling and turn them into world class wrestlers.

Dangal has so far collected Rs 155.35 crore from the domestic market in five days and has broken many records in the process. The movie has collected Rs 29.78 crore, from Friday, Rs 34.82 crore on Saturday and a whopping Rs 42.35 crores on Sunday, Christmas day. It has topped off with a massive collection of Rs 25.48 crore on Monday, which is also the highest collection for any movie on a Monday this year. The record was previously held by Salman Khan’s blockbuster movie Sultan which collected 15.54 crore on its first Monday. The Aamir Khan starer has collected Rs 23.07 crore on Tuesday.

Dangal has been doing great business in the international market also. According to trustworthy trade sources, the film has collected Rs 76.16 crores from the overseas centres. In USA, the collections stand at Rs 22.76 crore, Canada – Rs 3.72 crore, Middle East region – Rs 18.20 crore, UK and Ireland – Rs 5.25 crore and Rs 3.59 crore from Australia. The movie has already become the all time highest grosser in North America, a record which was previously held by another Aamir Khan starrer Dhoom 3.

After the movie touched the 200 crore mark Aamir Khan thanked the auidence through his twitter account. The tweet reads,

“Thank you for all the love and warmth, and thank you for owning our film. Love. Team Dangal.”

Dangal now has a domestic collection of Rs 155.35 crore. It is now the third highest grosser of 2016 after Sultan and Jungle Book, Sultan collected Rs 300.45 crores while Jungle Book raked in Rs 181.75 crore from the Indian box office. Dangal is expected to overtake the lifetime collections of MS Dhoni : The Untold Story with its Tuesday earnings. The movie will soon enter the 200 crore club from Indian box office as there is no other big releases scheduled for this week.
