Kerala Box Office : 1971 Beyond Borders Collection Report 16 Days

Major Mahadevan’s fourth installment in the series 1971 Beyond Borders had hit theaters on the 7th of April. The movie which had marked the 5th time collaboration of Mohanlal and Major Ravi was grandly welcomed. Telugu star Allu Sirish, Allu Arjun’s brother had also essayed an important character alongside the complete actor.

As of official reports after the 16th day the flick has grossed Rs 6.4 crores at the Kerala box office. The movie turned to be a disappointing one at the box office right after the reviews that came out on the initial day. The film which had lacked a fixed and strong storyline had a technically brilliant team. Even the Mohanlal fans found it hard to make the box office move on it’s initial days. The movie had also marked a full stop to the Mohanlal hit period, that the actor had both in Malayalam and Telugu industry with flicks like Vismayam, Janatha Garage, Oppam, Pulimurugan and Munthirivallikal Talirkkumbol. The cliched scenes and sequences used in this war drama had made the audience bored and were of no use.

The flick based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war and was made on a large scale budget. The movie is funded by Haneef Muhammed under the banner Red Rose Creations. Arunoday Singh, Srushti Dange, Priyanka Agarwal, Zoya Zayed Khan and others also play pivotal characters.

Sujith Vassudev’s cinematography was well acclaimed. The tracks in the flick were composed by Najim Arshad, Siddharth Vipin, and Rahul Subramanian. Gopi Sunder took care of the background score department.
