12 crores spent for a futuristic robot song in Rajinikanth’s 2.0

2.0, the much awaited sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2010 blockbuster Enthiran is nearing its completion. The entire shoot for the movie has been wrapped up and the team will now be heading to Dubai for the grand audio launch event. Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson recently shot for the final song in Mumbai. It is a futuristic song shot completely in sets erected by art director Muthuraj.

Reportedly, the makers have spent a whopping Rs 12 crores for this song. This song features Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson as robots and wear eye popping costumes. The art team created an artificial blue lagoon trees having robot like branches. Shankar’s imagination level is unparalleled and the spectacular visuals in his songs speak volumes about his genius. Looks like he has pushed the envelope further with 2.0.

2.0 is the sequel of Shankar’s sci-fi film Enthiran released back in 2010. Rajinikanth will be reprising his dual roles of scientist Vaseegaran and robot Chitti in this upcoming movie. Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is making his South Indian debut by playing the antagonist in this movie. Adil Hussain, Sudhanshu Pandey, Malayali actor Kalabhavan Shajon and Riyaz Khan are also part of the cast.

2.0 is perhaps the most anticipated Indian movie in recent years. True to the hype, the movie has been doing some massive pre-release business. Shankar has scripted the movie along with noted writer Jeyamohan. Several leading technicians from the west are associated with this magnum opus.

Lyca Productions is investing a mammoth budget of Rs 450 crores, which is the highest for any Indian film currently under production. The movie’s audio lauch will be held on October 27 in Dubai. Composer AR Rahman will be performing live in the event. The teaser will be released in November and trailer in December.

Inspired by the massive success of Dangal and Baahubali 2, the makers of 2.0 are planning to release the movie in multiple languages. It is slated to hit screens worldwide in January next year.
