63rd National Film Award Announced !

63rd National film awards has been announced to honor the best in Indian film industry based on the films released last year. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan had won the best actor award for his performance in the film named Piku. This is his 4th National award for best actor and most by any actor in India. Kangana Ranaut had won the best actress award for her performance in the film Tanu Weds Manu Returns. This is her 3rd national award. She had won the supporting actress award for Fashion and later won the best actress award for Queen. Now, she had got her second best actress award with Tanu weds Manu returns, the sequel of her super successful film Tanu weds Manu. Kangana become the only actress in Indian who won 2 best actress national award in back to back years.

Bahubali, the epic South Indian film directed by SS Rajamouli had won the best film award and Sanjay Leela Bansali had won the best director award for his film named Bajirao Mastani. Mollywood actor Jayasurya had won special jury mention for his performance in the film Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam. Gaurav Menon, the Mollywood child artist had won the best child actor award for his performance in the film Ben, directed by Vipin Atlee.

Salim Ahammad directorial Pathemari was chosen as the best Malayalam film. The best cinema friendly state award went to Gujarat. Kerala and Uttar Pradesh had won special mention in this category. The best music director award has been won by Mollywood music director M Jayachandran, for his song “Kathirunnu Kathirunnu..” from the film named Ennu Ninte Moideen directed by RS Vimal.

The best Sanskrit film award was given to Priya Manasam, directed by Vinod Mankara, the mollywood film director. Malayalam has won 3 awards in non-feature film section as well. Professor Aliyar had won the award for best commentary in a documentary award for the documentary named Arangile Nithya Vismayam. Neelan had won special jury mention for his film Amma and Christo Tomy’s Kamuki had won the best short film award. Visaranai had won the best Tamil film award. Veteran Film Maker Ramesh Sippy was headed the jury which decided the awards.
