Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots gets a Spanish remake
Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots, released in 2009, is considered as one of the all time best entertainers in Indian cinema. The movie, directed by Rajkumar Hirani was a coming of age story of three friends from an engineering college. The movie was one of the best blockbusters in Indian cinema during that time and won several accolades in the national and international level.
Eight years after it’s release, the movie is getting an international remake. 3 Idiots is being remade in Spanish as 3 Idiotas by Carlos Bolado. The movie stars Mexican actors Alfonso Dosal, Christian Vazquez, German Valdez and Martha Higareda. The film will be produced by Miguel Mier, Bernardo Rugama and Jimena Rodríguez. 3 Idiotas is slated to hit the screens on June 2, this year.
3 Idiots, apart being from being an entertaining movie had a very relevant social message, discussing about the educational system in our country. Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Boman Irani and Kareena Kapoor Khan essayed the lead roles.
3 Idiots was also remade in Tamil by one of Indian cinema’s leading filmmakers Shankar. The movie, tilted as Nanban starred layathalapathy Vijay, Srikanth, Jeeva, Sathyaraj and Ileana D’Cruz in the lead roles. Nanban was also a huge success enjoying a theatrical run of over 100 days.
