Ace filmmaker Shankar has words of praise for Soorarai Pottru and Jallikkattu
One of Indian cinema’s leading filmmakers Shankar has come out in praise of the recently released Tamil films ‘Soorarai Pottru’ and ‘Andhaghaaram’. He also appreciated the music score by Prashant Pillai for the Malayalam film ‘Jallikkattu’. Shankar’s tweet reads,

‘Soorarai Pottru’ directed by Sudha Kongara tells an inspiring story of a common man’s journey from humble backgrounds to accomplish his dream of launching his own aircraft business with the aim of serving the underprivileged. The film starring Suriya and Aparna Balamurali in the leads got released in Amazon Prime Video and received phenomenal response from all corners.
‘Andhaghaaram’ directed by V Vignarajan is a supernatural suspense thriller that got released on Netflix last month. The film has ‘Kaithi’ fame Arjun Das, Vinoth Kishan, Pooja Ramachandran, Kumar Natarajan and Misha Ghoshal in major roles. It garnered largely positive reviews from the critics, who rated it as a very unique attempt as far as Tamil cinema is concerned.
The Malayalam film ‘Jallikattu’ is India’s official entry at Oscars in International Feature Film category this year. The film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery has already won numerous accolades at the regional and international level.
