Aishwarya Lekshmi’s next is a fun, female-centric film!
‘Mayaanadhi’ star Aishwarya Lekshmi has not been very active in Malayalam industry these days. Her last release was ‘Brother’s Day’ that hit screens during last Onam. The actress then went on to do back to back films in Tamil. She made her debut in K-Town with the Vishal starrer ‘Action’. She is also part of Dhanush’s ‘Jagame Thanthiram’ and the ambitious Mani Ratnam project ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.
After a brief gap, Aishwarya is now set to return her home industry with a fun, female-centric film. Akhil Anilkumar, a popular name in the Malayalam short film circles, will be making his directorial debut with this film and popular filmmaker Martin Prakkat will be producing it.
This is the first time Aishwarya Lekshmi is doing a solo lead film and naturally, expectations will be more on her. In a recent chat with her followers in Facebook, she revealed that it is sort of an experimental film that they are planning. Shoot was supposed to kick-start in Palakkad on April 15 but due to the Corona virus outbreak, it is most likely to get delayed.
Akhil Anilkumar is noted for helming some hit short films like ‘Avittam – The Good Day of Unnikuttan’, ‘Adi – Fight and Fight Only’, ‘Anch – Gudhagava Jingalaala’ etc. His last work ‘Devika +2 Biology’ was a viral hit that has fetched over 2.5.million views in YouTube alone. Akhil’s maiden directorial with Aishwarya Lekshmi will be a very interesting one to look forward to. More details regarding the project are expected to be out soon.
