Appani Sarath Kumar plays a villain role in Vishal’s Sandakozhi 2
Sarath Kumar, who made an impressive debut by playing the villain ‘Appani Ravi’ in Angamaly Diaries, is now a popular face in the Malayalam industry. The movie opened gates to a slew of offers for Sarath and he was soon part of several big projects. Sarath is now making his Tamil debut with the sequel of Vishal’s superhit movie Sandakozhi.
Lingusamy, who helmed the first part is directing the sequel as well. Vishal, Raj Kiran and only a handful of other actors have been retained from the first part. Keerthy Suresh has replaced Meera Jasmine as the female lead. While veteran Malayali actor Lal played the villain in the first part, the sequel has Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar, Arjai, Kabali Vishwanath, Appani Sarath, Hareesh Peradi and Arjai in negative roles.
Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, who scored the music for the first part is has been retained the sequel as well. The film is being funded by Vishal’s own production house Vishal Film Factory. Shoot for the movie is nearing completion and is expected to hit screens this summer.
‘Appani’ Sarath also has a couple of Malayalam films in his kitty. He is playing the lead role in debutant Safeer Thailan’s Amala and Sudeep’s Contessa. Some other movies are also in the pipeline.
