Confirmed: Ramayana’s trilingual trilogy set to be made!

Back in 2017, we had reported about Madhu Mantena, Allu Aravind and Namit Malhotra teaming up to make a mega movie spectacle based on the Indian epic, Ramayana. When there were no updates regarding the same for almost two years, it was presumed to be dropped. However, it is now being reported that the project is very much on. The retelling of the mythological epic has been planned to be made in three parts with ‘Dangal’ fame Nitesh Tiwari and ‘Mom’ fame Ravi Udyawar will be jointly directing it.

India’s leading trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared a photo of the makers and has written,.

BIGGG NEWS… Producers Allu Aravind, Madhu Mantena and Namit Malhotra [Prime Focus] to make #Ramayana for the big screen… Nitesh Tiwari [#Dangal] and Ravi Udyawar [#Mom] will direct the three-part series… Will be shot in 3D and released in #Hindi, #Tamil and #Telugu.

The casting is not finalized yet… Actors from various film industries will be cast in the three-part film… The makers are targeting PAN India as well as global audience… The first part will release in 2021.

According to reports, ‘Ramayana’ trilogy is being planned on a whopping Rs 500 crores. It is expected to be made in 3D format with leading actors from across all Indian languages also part of the cast. Sridhar Raghavan is currently working on the screenplay and the makers are also looking into other technicalities.
