Director Ranjith to play Prithviraj’s father!
Prithviraj is currently in Ooty shooting for his Anjali Menon film. The movie also stars comeback actress Nazriya Nazim and Parvathy in major roles. Latest addition to the camp is director Ranjith, who will be seen in a significant role in the film. Anjali Menon has scripted this movie based on relationships and their values.
Prithviraj and Nazriya play siblings in the film and Ranjith has been brought on board to play their father’s role. It is a performance oriented role and the director has good scope for showcasing his acting skills. He has previously acted in notable roles in films like Annayum Rasoolum, Gulmohar and Thirakkadha. Ranjith has also lent his powerful voice for narration in many films.
Ranjith’s association with Prithviraj goes way back to 2002 when he introduced the actor through his film Nandanam. They have later worked together in films like Ammakilikkoodu, Thirakkadha and Indian Rupee. Anjali Menon has previously collaborated with Ranjith in the anthology Kerala Cafe. The former directed one of the segments, Happy Journey, in the ten film anthology, which was funded by Ranjith.
Anjali Menon’s upcoming movie also stars veteran Hindi actor Atul Kulkarni, Roshan Mathew, Sidharth Menon and Maala Parvathy in supporting roles. Songs in the movie are composed by M Jayachandran and Rahul Dixit. Littil Swayamp, noted for his terrific work in Parava, is cranking the camera.
After wrapping up the ongoing schedule in Ooty, the team will be shifting to Kerala and later to UAE. The movie is being produced by M Renjith’s Rejaputhra Visual Media in association with Little Films India.
