Balachandra Menon is once again on the headlines with an interview to a popular Malayalam film magazine in which he really lashed out at ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. Balachandra Menon said that some people become mad or insane when fame and power reaches to them and Kamal Haasan is one such person. Balachandra Menon had said this when he was asked about the Tamil remake of his Malayalam hit film Ammayane Sathyam which he started with Kamal Haasan and later shelved due to unknown reasons.
Balachandra Menon said that they had already begun the shoot of the Tamil version of the film with Kamal Haasan in the lead. While they were shooting the film some friends of Kamal Haasan had come on the sets of the film. They told him that the film tells the story of a girl in the disguise of a boy and the importance of the character is more for the female artist and not for the male lead. They asked why he can’t think of a film in which he plays a female in disguise. After that within days the shoot of the film stopped due to unknown reasons.
Balachandra Menon says that when he asked about it to Kamal Haasan he said that the producer of the film had some financial problem or so. Then Balachandra Menon told him that he can finance that film but Kamal Haasan was seemed not in a mood to accept it as well. Later after a few weeks Kamal Haasan started the film Avvai Shanmukhi in which he plays a female disguise of an old woman.
Balachandra Menon said that after that incident till now Kamal Haasan do not have the guts in him to look straight at Balachandra Menon or face him. Menon says that there are many such insane people in politics and art who is influenced and changed so much by fame and power. Now Balachandra Menon is coming with his new directorial venture named Njan Samvidhanam Cheyyum which will hit the screens this week most probably. The flick has lot of newcomers as usual and Balachandra Menon also plays a key role in the film.
