Gautham Menon opens up on why he dropped Vijay movie Yohan Adhyayam Ondru
Gautham Menon had earlier planned to direct a movie with Vijay titled Yohan Adhyayam Ondru. The movie was an action thriller in which Vijay was set to play the role of a CIA detective.
But the much awaited project did not materialize. Gautham Menon dropped the movie just 10 days before the shoot was scheduled to start.
Gautham Menon has said that Vijay was unaware of his treatment as the actor had not watched any of his previous movies. Yohan Adhyayam Ondru was an international subject that Vijay felt will not appeal to the masses and his huge fan base.

The director added that he would have taken the movie forward if Vijay had nodded his for the project. Gautham Menon also said that the movie would have surely been a superhit.
Gautham Menon later directed blockbusters like Vettaiyadu Velaiyadu with Kamal Haasan, Vaaranam Aayiram with Suriya and Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya with Simbu. He also directed Ajith in the cop movie Yennai Arindhaal.
Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada was the director’s last release. The movie starred Simbu and Manjima Mohan in the lead. AYM was opened to great numbers in the box office but received mixed response from the audience.
