I had to go for 17 takes for a single scene in Baahubali: Anushka Shetty

Anushka Shetty is currently basking in the glory of the enormous success of her latest outing Baahubali: The Conclusion. Her spectacular performance as Devasena has won her a lot of fans all across the country.

The massive success of Baahubali was a result of hardwork and dedication for over 5 years from the team. Anushka had a very meaty role in the movie for which she had set aside bulk dates from her busy schedule. She is the only actress to have worked with SS Rajamouli in two of his films; Vikramarkudu and the Baahubali franchise.

In a recent interview to a popular Malayalam magazine, Anushka opened up on her experience working with Rajamouli. The actress is very close to Rajamouli’s family and she is in awe of how the whole family works are focussed on the betterment of the movie.

Rajamouli, according to her, is a perfectionist. For instance, while shooting for Baahubali, Anushka had to go for 17 takes for a single scene. But she is quick to add that Rajamouli is a very patient and soft-spoken person who never loses his cool. He is also a very good tutor who tries his maximum to ensure that the artists have complete knowledge about the character they are playing.

Anushka Shetty’s next release will be be Bhagmati, a comic horror thriller directed by G Ashok. Shoot for this Telugu film has already been completed and the team is currently bust working on the post production.

Bhagmati stars Aadhi Pinisetty and Malayali actors Unni Mukundan, Jayaram and Asha Sarath in pivotal roles. To cash in on her popularity, the makers are dubbing it in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages.
