The Great Father vs Puthan Panam for this Vishu
Malayali filmmakers pin high hopes on the Vishu season, which also coincides with the summer vacations. It is a favourite season for superstar releases as families visit theatres in large numbers during this season.

The Great Father and Puthan Panam are the two movies pitted against each other for this Vishu.
The Great Father, arguably the megastar’s most hype movie was released on March 30. The movie opened to huge numbers in the box office shattering the record for the highest first day grosser in Kerala. This Haneef Adeni directorial is expected to do some great business in this holiday season.
Mammootty’s Puthan Panam is also slated to release for this Vishu season on March 12. The movie has good expectations among the audience as it marks the teaming up of Ranjith and Mammootty. The movie’s official trailer was released recently to excellent response from the viewers and that has further heightened the expectations.
Mammootty fans are elated after the record breaking success of The Great Father and hence they will make sure that Puthan Panam extends Mammootty’s successful run.
