Jayaraj’s Ottal won the Golden Crow Pheasant award at IFFK 2015

The 20th International Film festival of Kerala has been concluded today and in the competition category, the best film award went to Mollywood director Jayaraj’s film named Ottal which made news in last National awards as well. The Golden Crow Pheasant award was presented to the film in the concluding function of IFFK. 15 lakhs rupees is the prize money of this award. The film had also won the Silver Crow Pheasant award for the film which had got most number of votes from common audience. 2 lakhs rupees is the prize Money for the award.

In the competition section the film had also won the Netpac award for the best film in Asia. It won the FIPRESCI Award for the best film chosen by the Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique as well. Two actors in Ottal also got the awards in the film festival. Justice P Sadasivam, who is the Governor of Kerala distributed the prizes at the concluding function held at Nishagandhi auditorium, Trivandrum. The IFFK award for the life time achievement was given to Iranian director Dariyush Mehayurji. International acclaimed Jury chairman named Julian Brasan Edwardo declared the awards at the concluding function. The award for Ottal will be shared by the financer Mohan and director Jayaraj.

The Silver Crow Pheasant Award for the best director, with a prize money of 4 lakh rupees is awarded to Philippine director Jun Robleslana for his film named Shadow Behind the Moon. The award for best debutant director is given to Bangladeshi director Abushahid Imon for his film named Jalal’s story. The prize money for this award is 3 Lakh Rupees.

Anyway Ottal shined at the award function with most number of Prestigious awards and got the attention of every acclaimed film personalities and also got applause from common audience as well.
