Kaala most likely to hit screens before 2.0!
In the last two decades, superstar Rajinikanth has had two releases in a year only once. In 2014, his movies Kochadaiiyaan and Lingaa released back to back in a gap of seven months. 2018 is also expected to be one such year as both of his upcoming movies, 2.0 and Kaala are being planned to be released this year.
Though everyone expected 2.0 to hit screens first, it now seems like Kaala might be the first to release. The post-production works for 2.0 is taking a lot of time than they had planned initially. An US based VFX company had recently walked out of the project which has now forced the makers to start works once again from the scratch. So, it is now being reported that the movie will be further postponed and might release only by the end of this year.
If that’s true, the makers of Kaala will be eyeing to release their movie in April during the summer vacation. Dubbing works have already been wrapped up and composer Santhosh Narayanan is now working on the background score. They are planning to lock the final output by March to ensure a smooth release in April; most probably April 27, the most preferred release date in Indian cinema this year.
Kaala and 2.0 are two extremely different movies. While Kaala is a gritty gangster flick, 2.0 is an ambitious sci-fi thriller. Pa Ranjith, who made Kabali with Rajinikanth in 2016 is directing Kaala as well. He will be eyeing to rectify his mistakes from Kabali and present an all new mass avatar of Rajinikanth for the fans. The superstar’s son-in-law actor Dhanush is producing Kaala under the banner of Wunderbar Films.
