Popular Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar is all set to finance the Hindi remake of Mani Ratnam directorial Tamil film named OK Kanmani. OK Kanmani had Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon in the lead roles and was a success in Kollywood as well. Now the Hindi remake version is all set to start its filming. Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sradha Kapoor will play the lead roles in the hindi remake version of the film. Karan Johar’s Dharma productions will finance the film. Karan Johar is officially announced the news that he is going to finance the film.
The music of this film will be done by A R Rahman and Gulzar will pen the lyrics for the film. Karan Johan told that he is considering himself very lucky to get associated with a Mani Ratnam film. The film in Hindi will be directed by Shad Ali, who was the disciple and great friend of Mani Ratnam. Shad Ali had come to the film industry by remaking Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film Alaipayuthe to Hindi in the title of Saathiya.
Aadhi and Thara are the character names of Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon in this film and now those will be played by Adithya Roy Kapoor and Sradha Kapoor. Both were become very popular through the super hit romantic film named Ashiqui and now they are joining again for a film after that. Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon had got great appreciation for their performance in the Tamil Version of the film and now it’s the turn of Adithya and Sradha to give their best shot at it.
There was reports that Mani Ratnam’s next film also will have Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon in lead roles. But later Dulquer pulled out of the film due to his busy schedule and Telugu actor Nani replaced him. Tamil actor Karthi will also play a key role in it which said to be a romantic as well as revenge thriller. OK Kanmani had created some controversy as well when Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma called Mammootty , a Junior artist after seeing his son Dulquer’s performance in the film.
