Two weeks back we reported that our Mega star Mammootty is all set to do a film with Master director Mani Ratnam again after the success of Thalapathy in which they worked together for the first and last time which released in the year of 1991 and Kollywood Super star Rajinikanth was the lead in that film with Mammootty also played a key character. And it was a cinematic adaptation of the story of Karnna from Mahabharatha as well. That report told us that Mani Ratnam is writing the script in a way that they can begin the shooting in next year July month and sources said that Mani Ratnam had roped in Music maestro A R Rahman and master of cinematography PC Sreeram for this project as well.
Later an unconfirmed reports came from Kollywood that Mani Ratnam had replaced Mammootty with his son Dulquer Salmaan to play the lead in his next film and the reports of a Mammootty-Mani Ratnam film is a fake one. That report about Mani Ratnam-Dulquer Salmaan project said that Mani Ratnam wants to catch the youth with his films and in that Dulquer Salmaan will be a better choice than Mammootty at the box office and also considering the popularity among youth.
The Master director thought that way because of the success of his previous flick OK Kanmani starring Dulquer which really went beyond the level they expected it to be and gave Mani Ratnam a much needed hit after some failures. But now another report coming that in next Mani Ratnam film, Kollywood young star Karthi, popular actress and daughter of Kamal Haasan named Shruti Haasan also will be a part with Dulquer Salmaan.
It was not an officially confirmed news from anyone of them but close source to these artists say that it might be the one which is in the mind of Mani Ratnam. Karthi is on a high after the success of his last film Madras which is critically appreciated as well even though his latest film Komban did not do much well. Sruti Haasan also is a great admirer of Mani Ratnam and always wanted to work with him. Dulquer had already done a film with successful result with Mani Ratnam. It seems that the trio will be seen together in a Mani Ratnam flick very soon if things go well.
