Lucifer scripted by Murali Gopy is shaping up as a political thriller. After wrapping up the first schedule in Vandiperiyar, the makers are currently on a month long schedule in Trivandrum. Lot of scenes involving huge crowds are being shot. In a recent interview, actor Nandu, who plays a crucial role in the movie said that Lucifer is a big project that involves lot of artists.

Apparently, the team has shot several scenes involving 500-1000 junior artists in Trivandrum. For some scenes filmed in Ernakulam, the crowd count went up to 4000. According to him, the pay for junior artists alone would cost up to Rs 2.50 crores which is huge in the context of Malayalam cinema. Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas has said that they are investing a budget of nearly 50 crores for the movie’s making. That makes Lucifer one of the most expensive Malayalam movies in recent years. The team still has a couple of schedules left in Mumbai and Dubai.

Lucifer has Mohanlal as Stephen Nedumballi, a politician. Vivek Oberoi has been cast as the antagonist. Its supporting cast includes Saniya Iyappan, Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, John Vijay, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Thara Kalyan, Praveena Thomas and Mala Parvathy.
