Malayalam filmmaker Sachy passes away at 48!
Malayalam film industry has suffered an irreplaceable loss as writer-director Sachidhanandhan aka Sachy passed away last night. The 48-year-old was recovering from a hip surgery when he suffered a cardiac arrest and hypoxic brain damage on June 16. He was later admitted to Mission Hospital where he was on ventilator support.
Sachy breathed his last at around 9.30 PM on Thursday. It is learnt that his eyes have been donated. His mortal remains will be kept at High Court premises between 9.30 AM and 10.30 AM for the public to come and pay their respects. The final rites will be performed at Ravipuram Crematorium in Kochi.
Sachy’s demise comes as a huge jolt as he was regarded as one was on the finest commercial scenarists in Malayalam cinema in today’s times. Several celebrities including Mohanlal, Mammootty, Dileep, Prithviraj, Nivin Pauly, Dulquer Salmaan, Manju Warrier and many others have been paying their condolences through social medias.
Before becoming independent, Sachy collaborated with Sethu and scripted hit films like ‘Chocolate’, ‘Seniors’, ‘Robinhood’ and ‘Makeup Man’. The duo later parted ways and Sachy made his debut as a solo writer with the blockbuster Mohanlal starrer ‘Run Baby Run’. In 2015, he became a director with the superhit film ‘Anarkali’ starring Prithviraj and Biju Menon. The trio later came together this year for ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’. The film was hugely successful and is now set to be remade in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. It is quite unfortunate that Sachy left us all when he was at the peak of his career.
We, at Onlookers Media, pay our deepest condolences to Sachy who left for heavenly abode leaving behind his memorable works.
