Mamangam to release in overseas centres through Phars Films!
Mammootty’s ‘Mamangam’ is arguably one of the biggest films ever made in Malayalam cinema history. The Padmakumar directorial is made on a huge scale with massive production values, star-studded cast and a strong technical crew. Venu Kunnappilly of Kavya Films is producing the film, which is slated to hit screens on November 21.
As the release date is closing in, the makers are finalizing all business deals. The overseas rights was recently acquired by Phars Films Co LLC. Apart from Malayalam, ‘Mamangam’ is releasing in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages as well. Since it is a war film with an epic nature, it is expected to work with non-Malayalis as well.
‘Mamangam’, as per the makers, is a historic film with almost 80% of it being inspired from true events. Sajeev Pillai penned the script originally, which was later adapted by Shanker Ramakrishnan. The film is based on the religious festival, Mamangam, that took place every 12 years in a place called Thirunavaya, on the banks of Bharathapuzha, for over 280 years.
Mammootty, Unni Mukundan, Prachi Tehlan, Sudev Nair, Kaniha, Anu Sithara and Inyea will be seen in major roles.
