Massive clash on cards at the Kerala box office in May
Last day, it was announced that ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’ release has been postponed from March 26 to May 13. Interestingly, two other biggies are also set to hit screens on the same day. Nivin Pauly’s ‘Thuramukham’ and Fahadh Faasil’s ‘Malik’ — two films with tremendously hype — are also announced as Eid release on May 13.
If such a three way clash happens, it will have a major impact in the theatrical collections in Kerala. So the makers along with film governing bodies are expected to have a rethinking and adjust their release plans so that all the three films get a fair opening. Since the release date is another two months away, they will also be hoping that the pandemic situation gets better by then and theatres will be back to full capacity.

Mohanlal, Suniel Shetty, Prabhu, Manju Warrier, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Pranav Mohanlal and many others are part of the cast. The film is set to have its world premiere at the prestigious International Film Festival of Rotterdam (IFFR). It is among the 15 films selected for the Big Screen Competiton section. Sukumar Thekkeppat of Mini Studio is producing the film.
‘Malik’ starring Fahadh Faasil in the titular role is directed by Mahesh Narayanan of ‘Take Off’ and ‘CU Soon’ fame. It is an ambitious film that has been made on a big canvas with a budget of close to Rs 30 crores.
