Mohanlal has joined at the sets of Major Ravi’s 1971 Beyond Borders
We had earlier reported that Major Ravi had started shooting for his latest movie titled 1971 Beyond Borders with Mohanlal in the lead.
Shoot for this movie is currently happening in Rajasthan. The movie will be another war movie from Mohanlal- Major Ravi team, but with a totally different treatment.
Mohanlal has now joined the sets on Thursday. The movie is based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. The story will be told from the point of view of three soldiers who fought in the 1971 war.
Earlier the art department under Saloo K George built huge sets resembling army camps and bunkers in Kochi which was later transported to Rajasthan.
The movie will be completed in two schedules. First schedule of shoot will be for 25 days. Apart from Mohanlal, the movie also stars Telugu actor Allu Sirish, Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh, model turned actress Priyanka Chaudhary, Renji Panicker, Sudheer Karamana and Saiju Kurup playing other important roles.
This is the fourth time Mohanlal is playing the character of Mahadevan in a Major Ravi movie after Keerthichakra, Kurukshetra and Kandahar.
In 1971, Beyond the Borders Mohanlal will be playing the role of Mahadevan both as a Major and a Colonel. He will also be playing the character of Mahadevan’s father in the movie. The father character is also an ex- soldier.
Major Ravi had earlier assured that this will not be just another war movie. This new movie will focus more on human sentiments and relationships showing various emotions and difficulties a soldier undergoes during a war period.
1971 Beyond Borders is a big budget project produced by Haneef Ahmed under the banner Red Rose Creations. Major Ravi had earlier said that his team will be shooting the war sequences in high standards without compromising on qualities. Sujith Vassudev is handling the cinematography in this movie.
Rahul Subramaniam and Sidharth Vipin will handle the music department.
Shooting will take place in Rajasthan and later move onto Punjab and Kashmir. Climax portions will be shot in Kashmir. Some portions showing the United Nations meet will be shot in Uganda.
