Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz to start rolling only next year
Even before going on floors, there is a massive hype surrounding Mohanlal’s directorial debut film ‘Barroz’. As informed earlier by the makers, it is an ambitious fantasy film that has been planned on a grand scale. Pre-production works have already commenced in Goa and in Navodaya Studio, Kochi. The film has been planned to be shot in exotic locations in Goa, Portugal and some other foreign countries.
Aashirvad Cinemas, the makers of ‘Barroz’ is conducting an event in Kochi on Sunday. It has been planned as a launch event where the film’s cast and crew will be introduced. The film’s lead actress and music director will be announced in the event. It is learnt that a 14-year-old from Los Angeles will be playing the female lead and music will composed by the teenage child prodigy Lydian Nadhaswaram.
‘Barroz’ is scripted by Jijo Punnoose, the visionary filmmaker who made India’s first 3D film ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’. It is the story of Barroz, a mythical figure who was the gaurdian of Vasco da Gama’s valuable treasures for 400 years. Besides directing the film, Mohanlal is also playing the titular character.
Earlier, it was also announced that Spanish actors Rafael Amargo and Paz Vega will be part of ‘Barroz’.
Rafael Amargo will be essaying Vasco Da Gama’s part in the film. Since it is a global story, several other foreign actors will be acting in the it.
