Mohanlal’s new look from Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham goes viral in social medias
‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’ shoot is currently progressing at a brisk pace. The period flick helmed by Priyadarshan went on floors earlier this month in Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad. Major portions of the movie will be shot in the film city. The makers have erected huge sets there, which includes two massive ships. If reports are to be believed, around 100 crores are being invested on the movie.
This epic movie based on the life of Kunjali Marakkar IV has Mohanlal playing the titular role. The superstar’s look from the movie wad revealed last day in social medias and has gone viral already. With his thick beard and long hair, the star looks convincing in the part. Kunjali Marakkar was the title given to the naval chief of Zamorin of Calicut in the 16th century, whose duty was to protect the coast against the invading Portuguese army.
While Mohanlal plays the lead character of the fourth Marakkar, his son Pranav will be essaying the younger part of his character. Though the makers are yet to make an official announcement, reports suggest that the cast comprises of Arjun Sarja, Suniel Shetty, Mukesh, Madhu, Keerthy Suresh, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Manju Warrier and Pooja Kumar. Few foreign actors will also be seen in the movie.
Production designer Sabu Cyril, cinematographer Tirru and editor MS Ayyappan Nair are part of the technical crew. Said to be the biggest Malayalam film in terms of production values, Marakkar is funded jointly by Mohanlal’s Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment.
