This is a season full of surprises for Mollywood and that surprises reflects in the Kerala state film awards as well. Because no one ever thought that Nivin Pauly would become the best actor and Nazriya Nazim will become the Best Actress of the year 2014. Everyone was pinning their hopes on an actor like Jayasurya and Musthafa and fans of Mammootty was pinning their hopes on him as usual. So when the awards got declared the surprise had come out not only to the film lovers but also to the ones who got the award. Best actress Nazriya already said that she was never really expected an award as she was not even mentioned in any media and social networking platforms as a contender for getting this award.
But when it comes to Nivin Pauly there has been a talk among some people that he may become the Dark horse in the race for awards and that is what really happened. Nivin Pauly was adjudged the Best Actor of the year 2014 considering his show of skills in flicks like Bangalore Days which was helmed by the female director Anjali Menon and 1983 which was conceived by the debutant director Abrid Shine. Nivin Pauly said, he was not expecting this award and it came to him really as a surprise. Nivin told media that this award is an inspiration for him to do more and more films which has aesthetic value and which will make our industry proud.
He told that it seems that he is going through a golden patch in his professional life and this award has also came to him as a part of that golden time in his career which is brimming with success after success. Nivin said that in both films he had got very different characters and the credit goes to the directors of those films and he thanked them for giving him the opportunity to play those roles.
The young star is really happy after getting the award and it is his second award in two days time as he had received the Best Actor Award in SIIMA as well last Friday.
