Pranav Mohanlal as Kunjali Marakkar; Check out these new stills!
The much hyped ‘Marakkar Arabikadinte Simham’ is still under wraps due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The film was supposed to hit screens in March but the unexpected virus outbreak forced the makers to drop all plans. Directed by Priyadarshan, ‘Marakkar’ is an epic historic film made on a huge canvas with several stars and top technicians.
The film is actually based on the life of Kunjali Marakkar IV. Kunjali Marakkar is regarded as India’s first naval chieftain. Kunjali Marakkar was the title given to the naval chief of Zamorin of Calicut in the 16th century, whose duty was to protect the coast against the invading Portuguese army.
While Mohanlal appears in the titular role, his son Pranav essays the younger part of Kunjali. Some new stills featuring the latter have been sharing online. Pranav is playing more of an extended cameo role. He will be seen performing action scenes and a dance sequence along with Kalyani Priyadarshan.
The film has a star-studded cast that includes actors from various languages. Suniel Shetty, Arjun Sarja, Keerthy Suresh, Manju Warrier, Ashok Selvan, Prabhu, Mukesh, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Siddique and many others are part of the cast. Several foreign actors are also playing major roles in the film. Mohanlal’s own banner Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment are jointly producing this mega budget film.
