Premam celebrating its first anniversary tomorrow
Premam, this film had made its own place in the history of Malayalam cinema and tomorrow the film will celebrate its first anniversary. When this film released on last year May 29, nobody ever thought that this will make such a huge impact in Kerala and not even in the wildest of dreams no one had ever thought that it was going to make history in Tamil Nadu as well. But this Alphons Puthran written, directorial and edited film starred by Nivin Pauly had made everyone stood stunned with its unbelievable success. The film is now the second biggest grosser in Mollywood right behind Mohanlal starrer Drishyam.
The film had made such an impact here that Premam style become a trend among youth here. It trended everywhere and even in Tamil Nadu, the film showed its might. The flick had completed 300 days run there at Chennai and it became the first ever Malayalam film to do so in Tamil Nadu. The film became a turning point in the career of almost everyone who associated with it starting from the director Alphons Puthran. It had given Nivin Pauly his biggest success ever and suddenly people began to call him the young super star. His fan base had increased to another level with the success of this film. Now he had strong fan base all over South India and his films gets great anticipation from Tamil Nadu, Andhrapradhesh etc as well along with Kerala.
Artists like Soubin Shaheer, Vinay Fort, Sharafudeen, Krishna Shankar, Siju Wilson etc become popular all over Kerala with this flick. 3 heroines became the sweethearts of Kerala only because of this film. Anupama Parameshawarn, Sai Pallavi and Madonna are those actresses who become a sensation all around. Lyricist/singer/actor Shabareesh, Music director Rajesh Murugeshan, cameraman Anand etc also become highly popular here. The Malare song sung by Vijay Yesudas for this film had become one of the biggest hit song ever released in Mollywood as well.
The film had made lots of controversies too. Many eminent people had come out against this film saying that it teaches bad moral values to youngsters. The leaking of Censor copy of this film had led to another controversy after that. Later, it landed in state film award controversy as well when it was not given any awards sighting some unacceptable reasons by Jury chairman.
Thus, Premam made the headlines in Mollywood all throughout last year. Even after all these controversies, the film is still remembered for its positive side and Malayalees still don’t want to come out of Premam effect literally.
