Rs 40 crore allocated for a single fight sequence in Indian 2

As we already know, Kamal Haasan and director Shankar are reuniting for ‘Indian 2’, the sequel to their own classic hit that got released in 1996. The sequel will see Kamal Haasan returning as the freedom-turned-vigilante Senapathi. After completing the first two schedules in Rajahmundry and Sriperumbudur, the team has now moved to Bhopal.

A massive action sequence has been planned to be shot there. The makers are interesting a whopping Rs 40 crore for this fight scene alone. Around 2000 junior artists will be part of the scene, which promises to be a true visual treat from Shankar and team. Famous action director Peter Hein is choreographing this scene.

Kamal Haasan will be joining the team shortly. He will be appearing as a 90-year-old in the film and the star is putting in the best of his efforts to look and perform convincingly as a nonagenarian. In a recent interview, Peter Hein is quoted saying that it was a big challenge for him to choreograph stunts for a 90-year-old. But to his pleasant surprise, he was amazed by the authenticity that Kamal brings to the table as he performs exactly like how an old man fights.

‘Indian 2’ also stars Bollywood superstar Anil Kapoor, Kajal Agarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Nedumudi Venu. Shankar has written the movie’s screenplay and dialogues are penned by Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairmuthu and Lakshmi Saravanakumar. Composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Rathnavelu, editor Sreekar Prasad and production designer Muthuraj form the core technical crew.

Lyca Productions is producing the film and it is reported that they are investing a lavish budget of over Rs 200 crores.After wrapping up the Bhopal schedule, the team will be heading to Taiwan and later to Europe.
