Sachin Tendulkar wants Aamir Khan to act in his biopic
The documentary Sachin: A Billion Dreams continues to get good response from the audience all across the country. Directed by British filmmaker James Erskine, the film showcases the cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar’s journey to become the best ever in the sport. Apart from Sachin’s cricket and personal moments, it also reveals certain unknown aspects of his life.
Recently, Sachin said that if ever there was a biopic made on it him, Aamir Khan should be the one donning his role. “I think Aamir Khan is best suited to play me. And the reason for the same is Lagaan,” says Sachin.
Sachin also admits that he might be biased towards the actor since they are close friends. “I know Aamir for many years, he is a close friend and a fabulous actor as well,” says Sachin.
If at all a biopic on Sachin happens someday, it will be interesting to see whether Aamir agrees to play the role. We have already seen his cricketing skills in the cult blockbuster Lagaan. He is also one of the best when it comes to playing real life characters as he has proven in films like Mangal Pandey and more recently Dangal.
Meanwhile, Sachin: A Billion Dreams has earned around Rs 30 crores from the box office. This is the collective figure from all five languages (Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, English) in which the movie was released. This is already the highest ever gross for an Indian docudrama released in theaters.
