Samuthirakani reveals about his plans to make a film with Mohanlal
Samuthirakani is one of the finest character actors in South cinema. Though he predominantly does Tamil films, the National award winner has also done notable roles in other language films. Besides acting, he is also a well known as a director who has helmed films like ‘Nadodigal’, ‘Appa’ and ‘Nimirndhu Nil’.
In a recent interview, Samuthirakani revealed that he has plans to make a film with Mohanlal. The two had earlier acted together in ‘Shikkar’ and ‘Oppam’. More recently, they both part of the KV Anand directorial ‘Kaappaan’, which is getting ready for release. Samuthirkani, in the interview, was all praise of Mohanlal’s phenomenal acting skills.
He is quoted saying, “I have a few subjects in mind for Mohanlal sir. As a project, it will materialize when things fall in place properly. He is an universal actor, so you can make it in Tamil, Malayalam or any other language. It has been a great experience working with him.”
‘Kaappaan’ has a stellar star cast lead by two of South cinema’s biggest stars – Mohanlal and Suriya. Samuthirakani, Arya, Sayyeshaa, Boman Irani and Shamna Kasim are also part of the cast. The movie is slated to hit screens on September 20.
