Soubin Shahir to play the hero in Aashiq Abu’s next venture !
Popular Young generation Director Aashiq Abu is all set to start his next venture after Rani Padmini which had Manju Warrier and his own wife and actress Rima Kallingal in the lead. Even though the film has got good reviews from critics and lovers of different experiments, it was not a commercial success. In that sense Aashiq Abu is in a bit of dilemma as his last two movies were bombed at box office. Gangster which released in 2014 was one of the biggest disaster ever happened in Malayalam Cinema history and in Mega Star Mammootty’s career as well.
Rani Padmini can be termed as the comeback of the craftsman in Aashiq Abu even though it did not do well in box office. His great directorial skill was very much visible in that film. But failures will not bother brave directors and Aashiq Abu is one among that. He always looks for something new and fresh above all the commercial scheme of things in cinema. That is again evident when the news about is next film had come last day. Because he had chosen actor Soubin Shahir to play the lead in his next venture.
Soubin Shahir came to the film field as an assistant director. He was the associate of Siddique in Chronic Bachelor. Later he acted in Annayum Rasoolum directed by Rajeev Ravi out of friendship with him. But later he become a busy actor in Malayalam. The character of PT Teacher in the blockbuster success Premam was really a turning point in his career. He had acted in films like Chandrettan Evideya with Dileep, Loham with Mohanlal, Charlie with Dulquer Salmaan etc. Soubin Shahir had also acted in Aashiq Abu’s last film Rani Padmini as well. Even though he played only small characters in these films, all of them were quite popular thanks to his great comedy timing and style of acting.
