Sun TV acquires Vivegam and Thaana Serntha Koottam for a whopping amount
After a dull first half of 2017, Kollywood is gearing up for an exciting latter half as some biggies are lined up for release. Ajith’s Vivegam and Suriya’s Thaana Serntha Koottam are two of the most anticipated films of the year. Vivegam is all set to hit screens this 25th and the Suriya starrer is expected to be released sometime by the end of this year.
According to latest reports, leading Tamil channel Sun TV has bagged the satellite rights for both these movies for a huge amount. The news was disclosed by trade analysts Sreedhar Pillai and Ramesh Bala via their Twitter pages.
Apart from these two films, Sun TV has also acquired the satellite rights of Sivakarthikeyan’s movie with Vignesh Shivan, which is yet to go on floors. Earlier, Zee TV had bagged the telecasting rights for Vijay’s Mersal for a record price.
Vivegam, directed by Siruthai Siva is Ajith’s first release in over two years. Ajith has undergone a stunning make over for playing the role of a foreign agent in the movie.
Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, Kajal Agarwal and Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter Akshara Haasan are playing prominent roles in the movie. Sathya Jyothi Films have invested a whopping budget of over Rs 120 crores for Vivegam.
Suriya’s Thaana Serntha Koottam, directed by Vignesh Shivn is tipped to be an entertainer that discusses a social message. Tamil cinema’s current favourite Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead.
The movie has a stellar supporting cast that includes Ramya Krishnan, Karthik, popular comedian Senthil, Saranya Ponvannan, KS Ravikumar and RJ Balaji among others.
