Sunny Deol to star in Joseph Hindi remake
After getting remade in Tamil, the hit Malayalam film ‘Joseph’ is now getting a Hindi version. Sunny Deol is set to star in the remake, which will be directed by M Padmakumar, who helmed the original version as well. It marks the ‘Mamangam’ director’s debut in Hindi cinema.
‘Joseph’ starring Joju George in the titular role is about a retired policeman finding out the mystery behind his wife and daughter’s deaths Joju’s performance in the film was widely appreciated and he won a Special Jury Mention in National Awards and the Kerala State award for Best Character Actor. It is reported that Sunny Deol was highly impressed by ‘Joseph’ and he wanted the remake version to be as real and gritty as the original. More details regarding the project are awaited.
M Padmakumar had also remade ‘Joseph’ in Tamil as ‘Visithran’. Producer-turned-actor RK Suresh plays the lead role in the film, which is produced by acclaimed filmmaker Bala. Most works have already been completed and the makers are expected to release the film soon.
