Thala Ajith donates Rs 1.25 crores for COVID-19 relief
Tamil superstar Ajith has offered a financial assistance of Rs 1.25 crores for Corona relief. He has donates Rs 50 lakhs each to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) fund and Tamil Nadu Chief Minsiter’s relief fund. Apart from that, he has also contributed Rs 25 lakhs to the welfare of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) workers. It is indeed a gracious gesture from Ajith, which will definitely inspire many more to come forward and help those in need.
As the nation is fighting hard to stop the Corona virus outbreak, film stars across the country have been doing their bit by contributing towards the government relief funds. Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan, Sivakarthikeyan, Anushka Sharma, Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, Ram Charan, Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Nithiin, Sai Dharam Tej and many others have donated money.
The welfare of the daily wage labourers in the film industry is another area of major concern. Due to the complete lockdown, most of them have are jobless and many generous people from within the industry are supporting them financially. Talks are on with sponsors and TV channels to raise funds to help the workers.
