Three promising Malayalam films slated for release tomorrow
A week after the Mammootty starrer ‘Shylock’ stormed theatres, Kerala box office witness will witness the release of three comparatively small yet promising films. ‘Anveshanam’, ‘Gauthamante Ratham’ and ‘Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoodhi’ are the three films slated to hit screens tomorrow (January 31).
‘Anveshanam’ stars Jayasurya, Vijay Babu, Sruthi Ramachandran and Leona Lishoy in the lead roles. The film directed by Prasobh Vijayan of ‘Lilli’ fame is a medical thriller with an emotional core. Debutant Francis Thomas has scripted the film with additional screenplay and dialogues penned by Ranjeeth Kamala Sankar and Salil V. Its trailer was highly promising and helped in raising the expectations among cinephiles.
‘Gauthamante Ratham’ is Neeraj Madhav’s first release as a lead actor. Debutant Anand Menon has directed the film, which promises to a fun, feel-good flick. The recently released romantic track ‘Uyire’ sung by South Indian sensation Sid Sriram has grabbed attention in social medias. With positive word of mouth, the film is expected to do well. Funtastic Films headed by Aju Varghese, Dhyan Sreenivasan and Visakh Subramanian is releasing the film in Kerala.
‘Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoodhi’ first got noticed by many thanks to the innovative promos. Intriguing posters, teasers and the more recent promo song have all been well received. The film written and directed by debutant Jenith Kachappilly is a stoner comedy. ‘Premam’ gang of Siju Wilson, Krishna Shankar, Shabareesh Varma and Althaf Salim play the lead roles.
