I was thrilled when I first heard the story of CIA: Dulquer Salmaan
Dulquer Salmaan is currently on a high both personally and professionally. He recently became a dad to a proud baby girl after five years of marital life with Amaal Sufiya. On the professional front, his latest release CIA is doing good business in all the centres despite the Baahubali storm sweeping the state.
CIA aka Comrade In America is about Aji Mathew, an young comrade from Kottayam who travels to the US without travel papers. The movie is written by Paavada fame Shibin Francis and directed by Amal Neerad.
In a recent interview, Dulquer opened up about how he actually hopped on board for CIA. The actor was apparently thrilled when he first heard the script. He felt that CIA dealt with an entirety different subject from what Amal Neerad has handled previously. The only thing about which Dulquer is worried about was the delay in releasing the movie.
CIA was long in the making as the makers could not get the travel papers ready for the US schedule. After completing the first schedule in August last year, they were on a break for almost three months. This kept pushing the release dates.
Debutante Karthika Muraleedharan played the female lead in the movie. Siddique, John Vijay, Jinu John, Chandini Sreedharan, Soubin Shahir, Maala Parvathy and Dileesh Pothen have essayed other supporting characters. Amal Neerad produced CIA under his banner Amal Neerad Productions.
