Unni Mukundan to work as an assistant director in Mammootty’s Oru Kuttanadan Blog

Scriptwriter Sethu of Sachi-Sethu duo ia turning an independent director with an upcoming Mammootty starrer. The movie was initially titled as Kozhi Thankachan but has now been re-titled as Oru Kuttanadan Blog. It is a rural entertainer with much prominence to humour. Raai Laxmi, Anu Sithara and Deepti Sati play the three female leads.

An interesting aspect of this film is that actor Unni Mukundan will be working as an assistant director in it. He will be assisting Sethu, with whom he shares a brotherly relationship ever since the Mallu Singh days. Unni got his big break with Mallu Singh, which was co-written by Sethu. He was also part of Sethu’s recently scripted Achayans, directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam.

Sethu earlier in an interview had revealed about Unni’s interest in direction. When he asked Mammootty about Unni’s wish to assist, the megastar was concerned about the youngster’s acting commitments. But Unni adjusted his dates accordingly to work in this movie. He has already worked with Mammootty in Bombay March 12, Rajadhiraja and the yet-to-be-released Masterpiece.

Oru Kuttanadan Blog will feature Mammootty in a totally relatable role of an ordinary villager. The movie’s supporting cast has a mix of senior and younger actors. Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jude Anthany Joseph, Sanju Sivaram and Adil Ibrahim will be seen in significant roles.

The movie will be shot extensively in Kuttanad and surrounding areas. The plot is set in a fictional village called Krishnapuram. Cinematography will be handled by Pradeep Nair and newcomer Sreenath is in charge of the music department.

Oru Kuttanadan Blog will be produced by Muraleedharan and Santha Muraleedharan under the banner of Anantha Vision. The banner has previously funded superhit films like Memories, Chocolate and Classmates. The movie will go on floors only after Mammootty wraps up the final schedule of Sharrath Sandith’s Parole.
