Vijay 62: Vijay’s next with AR Murugadoss starts rolling today!
As reported by us earlier, the shoot for Thalapathy Vijay’s highly anticipated movie with AR Murugadoss kick-started today. The team had a customary pooja ceremony and the first clap in was done by none other than Vijay himself. The star was seen sporting a new look with a closely trimmed beard and a stylish ear stud.
Director Murugadoss, Keerthy Suresh and cinematographer Girish Gangadharan were also present for the switch on. The team will be having a short schedule in the coming days before starting full fledged shoot from February. Sun Pictures is making a comeback to production by backing this big budget film. Their last venture was the all time blockbuster Rajinikanth starrer Enthiran, released back in 2010.
Vijay 62 marks the third time union of Vijay and Murugadoss. Both their previous films – Thuppakki and Kaththi – were huge blockbusters and are placed in the elite 100 crore club of Kollywood. So, expectations are massive for this upcoming movie among the masses.
Malayali cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, noted for his stellar works in films like Guppy and Angamaly Diaries, is making his Tamil debut with Vijay 62. Multiple National award winner Sreekar Prasad will be editing the movie and T Santhanam will be handling the art department.
Oscar award winner AR Rahman has been brought on board to score music for the movie. It is his second successive film with Vijay after Mersal and it also marks his reunion with director Murugadoss after a gap of 10 long years. They last worked together in the Hindi remake of Ghajini. In the cast, only Keerthy Suresh and comedian Yogi Babu have been confirmed as of now. Names of other cast members are expected to be revealed soon.
