Vijay returns back to resume shooting for Master!

After being questioned by the Income Tax (I-T) officials for 30 long hours, Tamil actor Vijay has returned back to the sets of ‘Master’. It is reported that the crew members had a grand reception for the star who swiftly started shooting for his portions. On Wednesday, while shooting at the coal mines in Neyveli, I-T officials landed on sets and questioned Vijay. He was later took him to his properties in Chennai for further inquiry after they found some unaccounted transactions between him and financier Anbu Chezhian.

The blockbuster success of the star’s recent film ‘Bigil’ and the publicised figures were under the scanner of I-T officials. The film’s producers AGS Entertainment, Vijay and financier Anbu Chezhiyan were questioned by the authorities in relation to this. For the last two days, search and survey actions were held at over 38 premises of the group spread over Chennai and Madurai.

The I-T department have made significant recoveries from financier Anbu Chezhiyan. They have seized unaccounted cash adding up to ₹77 crore from various locations in Chennai and Madurai belonging to Chezhiyan. In the statement released by the officials, it says,

“The highlight of the search is the seizure of unaccounted cash of about Rs. 77 crore from hideouts and secret places located at Chennai and Madurai, purportedly belonging to the financier. Large number of property documents, Promissory notes, post dated cheques taken as collateral security were recovered during the search and have been seized,” said the press release.

However, the officials have still not been able to make any seizure from actor Vijay yet. Reportedly, Vijay has submitted all his documents and cleared the probe. After the IT investigation, it has also emerged that the star’s remuneration for ‘Bigil’ had been Rs 30 crore, and the film has earned more than Rs 300 crore. In the press release, they have mentioned that his investment in immovable properties and remuneration received for the film are still being investigated.

“In the context of the issues of the prominent Actor, it is stated, that, his investment in immovable properties and remuneration received from the said Producer (AGS) for acting in the film is the subject matter of investigation in the present search. Searches in some of the premises are still continuing,” the press

Regarding the producers AGS, the department said, “The producer, who is also a part of the group searched, is into film production, distribution and film exhibiting, multiplexes and has produced several films. Analysis of the accounts available in the office premises is under process. Evidences of actual receipts and expenses booked and remuneration paid to artists is under investigation.”
