Vijay Sethupathi donates Rs 25 lakhs to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Relief fund

Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi has contributed a sum of Rs 25 lakhs to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund (CMPRF) to help the State government in the battle against Covid-19. He personally met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin at the Secretariat and handed over the cheque.

Many other celebs from the Tamil film industry have contributed generously towards Covid-19 welfare. Superstar Rajinikanth had had donated Rs 50 lakhs, while his daughter Soundarya and her family also offered Rs 1 crore to the CMPRF. They made the donation on behalf of their pharmaceutical company Apex Laboratory.

Suriya, Karthi and their father Sivakumar donated Rs 1 crore to the government. Ajith had contributed Rs 25 lakhs towards the CMPRF and followed it up with another Rs 10 lakhs for the welfare of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) workers. Vikram made an online donation of Rs 30 lakhs to the CMPRF. Veteran editor Mohan and his sons Jayam Ravi and Mohan Raja together contributed Rs 10 lakhs. Ace filmmakers AR Murugadoss and Vetrimaaran donated Rs 25 lakhs and Rs 10 lakhs respectively.
