Jamna Pyari Review-Rating-Report-Kunchacko Boban-Gayathri Suresh

Jamna Pyaari is certainly not a much awaited film by Mollywood film lovers but has raised some sort of anticipation among the film lovers with its trailer and songs. Specially the song in Thrissur dialect has entered the hit chart and has received great applause from the viewers. It is the second directorial venture of Thomas Sebastian after the disastrous debut he made with the film named Maya Bazar starred Mammootty which was released 6-7 years ago.

But this time he teamed up with Kunchacko Boban to try his luck again in Mollywood. The screenplay was written by P R Arun for this movie and they have used the Thrissur slang in this film which almost proved as a success factor in Mollywood films. We have seen many films which succeeded using the Thrissur slang creating good effect in movies like Thoovanathumbikal starring Mohanlal, Pranjiyettan and the saint starring Mammootty and Punyalan Agarbathis starring Jayasurya and now it’s the time for Kunchacko Boban to try his luck with the Thrissur slang.

The flick tells the story of Vasoottan played by Kunchacko Boban. Vasoottan is an Auto Driver who is always there to help people with whatever help they need. Once he had to help a family to get 100 Jamna Pyaari, a breed of goat. The family’s future depends on the 100 Jamna Pyaari goats. The film shows Vasoottan and his team’s effort to get that 100 goats and the problems he had to face while he is moving towards his goal.

The film is made as a complete festival entertainer with all elements like comedy, romance, action etc and has come up without boasting about anything. The music scored by Gopi Sundar is not awesome but gelled with the mood of the film. The film has a long string of popular actors such as Aju Varghese, Neeraj Madhav, Joy Mathew, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Renji Panicker along with Kunchacko Boban who as always did a terrific job when the level of performance is concerned. The heroine of the film the new face Gayathri Suresh also excelled with her performance. But Kunchacko Boban was the real highlight of the film with his energetic performance.

But the film is not up to the mark. Neither it is excellent in it’s execution nor a disappointing movie. The lack of depth in the basic plot was the reason for that. It had an above average first half with some good comedy numbers but when it came to the second half, the film began to sink and at last ended in a predictable and not so thrilling climax. Many characters seemed unwanted in the film like the character played by Aju Varghese, Roja etc.

On the whole the film is just a onetime watch for the fans of Kunchacko Boban or for the people who like feel good entertainers.
