Collection Report : Opening day record for Jomonte Suvisheshangal

Dulquer Salmaan’s much anticipated family entertainer Jomonte Suvisheshangal directed by senior director Sathyan Anthikad was released yesterday. The movie opened to generally good reviews with some complaints about the tried and tested formula. But that didn’t stop the movie from setting a new opening day collection record in the Kochi multiplexes. The movie registered a record 17.8 lakhs from the first day itself.

The record was previously held by another Dulquer Salmaan- Charlie (16.86 lakhs) released in 2015. Third on the list is Nivin Pauly’s Action Hero Biju (15.25 lakhs) followed by Kali (15.07 lakhs) and Pulimurugan (14.97 lakhs).

Jomonte Suvisheshangal written by Dr Iqbal Kuttippuram deals with a heartwarming father-son relationship. Veteran actor Mukesh has played Dulquer’s father in this movie. Chemistry between the two actors have been widely appreciated.

Premam fame Anupama Parameswaran and Kollywood actress Aishwarya Rajesh have played the female leads. Supporting actors include Muthumani Vinu Mohan, Manobala, Jacob Gregory, Manobala, Irshad Innocent, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Rasna Pavithran, Nandu etc.
