James and Alice Collection Report – First Day

Prithviraj starrer James and Alice had released on May 5, Thursday and it marked the directorial debut of cinematographer Sujith Vasudev. The film has Vedhika playing the lead role in it and it is a romantic-family entertainer scripted by Dr. S Janardhanan.

Unfortunately, the film had opened to negative reviews from most of the viewers and it reflects in its box office response as well. As per reports coming in from trade guides, the film had collected just around 1.1 crore on its first day from the screens here in Kerala.

Even though it is a decent opening, when we consider the star value of Prithviraj, it is not at all up to the mark. There was not much hype around the film before its release and the negative word of mouth may have affected the returns from evening shows as well. The share on the first day is around 45 lakhs and second day also showed the average trend at box office. The second day collections will be available soon and we will update it once it arrives.

Prithviraj’s script selection was good last year. But his releases in this year shows his grip on that aspect is not that tight now. His last release named Darwinte Parinamam also not made any impact at box office.
