Kerala Box Office : Angamaly Diaries final collection report

Directed Lijo Jose Pellissery after the disappointing Double Barrel stormed the scene this year with Angamaly Diaries. The director, know for his penchant to try something unique in every movie of his, came with a story that explores the culture and lives of Angamaly and it’s natives.

Another interesting aspect of the movie was it had a rookie cast comprising around 85 newcomers. Upon release, Angamaly Diaries was lapped up by the audience and the critics alike. After a slow start, it soon picked up at the box office.

Thanks to the extensive promotions by the makers, the movie soon grabbed the attention of the audience outside Kerala. Celebrities including Mohanlal, Mammootty, Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, Geetu Mohandas, Karthik Subbaraj and many others heaped praise on the movie. National medias also rated Angamaly Diaries as one of the finest Indian movies in recent years.

According to latest reports from trade sources, the movie has grossed around Rs 15.20 crores from the Kerala box office alone. With the all India collections and other rights, the overall business is estimated to be over Rs 20 crores.
