Kerala Box Office: Puthan Panam Collection Report 30 Days
Mammootty’s last release was Puthan Panam, directed by ace filmmaker Ranjith. The movie was released on April 12 amidst high expeditions majorly due to the reunion of Ranjith with Mammootty after a brief gap.
The duo has earlier teamed up for some highly acclaimed movies, so the audience were expecting a quality movie this time also. But unfortunately, Puthan Panam failed to impress the audience as well the critics. The reviews were mostly mixed to negative and that reflected on the box office collections.
According to reports from trade sources, Puthan Panam has managed to gross Rs 6.46 crores from it’s 30 days theatrical run in Kerala. After the tax pay, the net pay is estimated as Rs 5.20 crores and the producer’s share is amounted to be around Rs 2.92 crores.
Puthan Panam was based on the concept of demonetisation. It was a different take on director Ranjith’s National award winning movie Indian Rupee. But the execution faltered and could not raise the expectations. Mammootty essayed the role of Nithyananda Shenoy in the movie. His terrific enunciation of Kasaragod slang was highly appreciated by the critics.
Puthan Panam was produced by 3 Color Cinemas, a new production company jointly owned by Abraham Mathew, director Ranjith and actor Arun Narayan.
