Kerala Box Office : Sakhavu Collection Report 15 Days

Nivin Pauly’s first release of the year Sakhavu is doing average business in the box office after three weeks of it’s release. The movie, directed by National award winner Sidharth Siva is a political drama featuring Nivin in a dual role.

Sakhavu opened to good reviews from the critics and common audience but failed to cash in big on the Vishu holidays. According to latest reports from trade sources, Sakhavu has grossed Rs 10.60 crores from the Kerala box office.

Nivin Pauly enjoys a huge popularity outside Kerala and that has reflected on the box office returns of his previous few movies. However, Sakhavu has not had that kind of reception. The reason being that is because it is a political movie that appeals mainly to the Malayali audience. Also, the massive release of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has affected Sakhavu’s prospects at the box office.

Nivin Pauly has given his career best performance as Sakhavu Krishnan in the movie. He has been getting a lot of appreciation for his portrayal of a forthright communist leader. The movie also stars Aishwarya Rajesh, Aparna Gopinath, Gayathri Suresh, Sreenivasan, Binu Pappu and Baiju in prominent characters. B Rakesh has produced this film under the banner Universal Cinema.
