Kerala Box Office: Sunday Holiday Collection Report 36 Days

Sunday Holiday, Asif Ali’s second outing with Bicycle Thieves director Jis Joy continues to good response from the audience. The movie, which released on July 14, opened to positive reports from almost all the centres. Critics gave it a feel good entertainer tag. Soon the families lapped up the movie.

The movie has successfully crossed its first month of theatrical run without many major setbacks. According to latest collection reports from our trade sources, the movie has managed to gross Rs 12.70 crores from the Kerala box office alone.

Thie is a good figure considering Asif Ali’s mixed run post the successful Anuraga Karikkin Vellam. Another great news is that the remake rights for the Tamil and Telugu versions of Sunday Holiday were sold within a week of its release. Sunday Holiday has already earned the ‘hit’ tag and is expected to continue its good run till the Onam releases grab the screens.

Sunday Holiday, scripted by director Jis Joy himself, has a two layered narrative. Aparna Balamurali plays Asif Ali’s pair in the movie. Alencier Ley Lopez, Sreenivasan, Asha Sharath, Pretham fame Shruthi Ramachandran, Siddique, KPAC Lalitha, Sudheer Karamana, Nirmal Palazhy, director Lal Jose, Dharmajan Bolgatty and Bhagath Manuel have essayed other supporting roles.

Action Hero Biju fame Alex J Pulickal has cranked the camera and Ratheesh Raj has edited the movie. Music department is handled by Deepak Dev. The movie is produced by Sheen Helen under the banner of Maqtro Pictures.
