15 leading channels to telecast Nine trailer simultaneously

Prithviraj’s highly ambitious film ‘Nine’ aka ‘9’ is gearing up for release in February 7. Jenuse Mohammed of ‘100 Days of Love’ fame is directing the movie. The movie is touted to be a first of its kind science-fiction flick in Malayalam. The promotions have all been highly impressive so far. For the last few days, the makers have been releasing character introduction posters. Meanwhile, the trailer is set to be released tomorrow (January 9).

Interestingly, the trailer will be telecast simultaneously on 15 leading television channels. The trailer will be telecast exactly at 9 PM in Asianet, Surya, Asianet Movies, Surya Movies, Asianet Plus, Manorama News, Kairali, Kochu TV, Surya Comedy, Amrita, News 18 Kerala, Kairali, Kairali We, People, Asianet HD and Zee Keralam. It is the first time in the history of Malayalam cinema that a movie is having such a big trailer release. Back in 2010, the trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘My Name is Khan’ was released similarly in all leading channelw across the country.

Nine marks the maiden venture of Prithviraj’s newly launched banner Prithviraj Productions. Sony Pictures International Productions is also making their entry to Mollywood by jointly funding this project. The movie also stars ‘Godha’ fame Wamiqa Gabbi, Mamta Mohandas and Prakash Raj in major roles. It also has a solid technical crew comprising of cinematographer Abhinandan Ramanujam, editor Shameer Muhammed and composer Shaan Rahman. ‘Da Thadiya’ actor Sekhar Menon is handling the original music score.
